Picking a lift.......

I've read the FAQs thread about lifts and been trying to piece one together. Looking for help on some questions. I don't have armor yet but occasionally carry some weight and once in a while pull a trailer. My 98 SR5 is my DD but will be a weekend toy on the trails as well. Mud and trails. No rock climbing. Looking for 3 inches. I'm kinda looking at the OME kits but I keep seeing don't use the medium or heavy kits or the wrath of God will come down if the armor or weight isn't there. Trying to stay around $400-$500 if possible. Just so much out there. It's a bit overwhelming. Maybe a 2 inch then add a 1 inch body? That would eliminate the diff drop right? When would I need the extended brake lines? Do I really need them on a DD that will occasionally see trails? I'm sure you all get the pointthat I'm trying to get at. If I forgot something let me know so I can get some help......

Thanks in advance!!!!

LC coils for the rear. I'd go with the 7.5 wraps for you're desired criteria. Tundra adjustable position for the front. This should keep you within your price range and will let you adjust your front to the rear. The most expensive part will be the front struts and rear shocks, but you should be well within your price range when it's all said and done. Take your time piecing it together and you will save big $$$. I would only worry about the rear brake line if you go over that height and disconnect your sway bar.

ProComps I was thinking as well to try to stay down on price but still have some quality. The LCs last a good amount of time?

people argue that springs wear out, but LCs provide ALOT of lift. some sag might not be a bad thing if you're not into rake. I got a set of 8/7.5 coils off a 97 FZJ80 for $20 a coil. They are purple/light blue/ white and double purple/green/white if i remember correctly. So alot of lift for a small amount of $$ and most T4R owners seem to prefer these over an OME option.

Looking for a lift? Check out the classifieds I'm selling mine that I pieced together I believe you might be interested.

I'm running the ProComp ES9000's. They are actually really good. As far as the springs wearing out you don't really have to worry. Those are springs meant to hold up the front end of an FJ80. And if you buy them used, which most are, they are already broken in and the sag taken out. When I initially installed mine it looked really tall especially raked forward with stock front end height, but they settled with in an hour.
