Well, it is official...the Element is IIHS/NHTSA safest small SUV!! 
Surprisingly, the Element passed roof strength test by IIHS with flying colors...despite it not having a true B-pillar (due to suicide doors). This makes the E a complete vehicle in terms of crashworthiness...it passed with flying colors in ALL crash tests to date.
