Drew - Looks like we will not be looking at brand spanking new tires come tomorrow am....

Unfortunatally not, but i will be soon as soon as i decide on which brand i want to go with. BFG A/T or M/T, Toyo M/T and Mickey Thompson Baja claw. I think i have finally decided on which size to go with 285/75/16's unless i change my mind again and go with 265/75/16's.

I put on the BFG A/T KO's a month after I bought my 4Rnr and couldn't be happier. That would be my recommendation.

Unless your really into being a mud puppy I think the BFG's are the way to go for an all around great tire, on and off road, snow/rain, water, and shallow mud.

Not having 4wd my suggestion would be to evaluate whether it's looks or functionality that you want for your rig then go from there. I must admit the high end Mud tires have a really nice tread look to them.

Thats funny cause every thread i have read tells me to go with the BFG A/T's not to mention everyone is tellin me also. I only have SAW coilovers in the front so i am debating between 2 tire sizes 265/75/16 or 285/75/16. I like to go out and play so i want to make sure the tires don't rub like when i go up to Big Bear some of the fire roads get really twisty flexing the suspension so i don't know.

I forgot to add, i might be doing th Allied lift spindles, TC UCA's, rear 2" DR coils, wheel spacers and SAW's in the rear in the next feww months. That will give a total of 5 inches of lift. With that i am considering getting the 285's

Well it was a pleasure to get a chance to meet everyone at Holy Jim today to talk, check out rigs, and wheel. Afew of us went on to do a second trail, Indian truck trail. Had a good time hope to do it again and hopefully the gate to the radio towers will be open. Zmtking and i are looking into doing a Big Bear run from Crab flats to Holcom Valley maybe when the snow clears out a bit. Well today was fun, took some picsand hope to do it again soon with everyone.

It was great to meet all of you and check out your trucks, CB / Ham Radios, upgraded tires and suspension etc.

Good to hear you guys had fun at the other trail.

The remainder of the Holy Jim Trail was not very long but a nice run. When I came back, I basically spent the rest of the day and part of the evening - a good 4 plus hours cleaning up the dry mud. At the first water crossing I went in with too much moementum (inexperience! ). 2/3rds of the hood was soaked with mud water. No water went into the stock air-intake but the front part of the engine compartment was pretty much flooded. Interesting thing was when I put the water hose from inside-out (from the side of the fan) to clean the radiator/tranny cooler, tons and tons of mud water came out. For the rest of the engine I sprayed a lot of Simple Green and washed the grime off. Cleaned the under-carriage with pressure washer - nice and clean again! :bigok: Ready for the next run with a little bit of more experience.

Drew - I would be interested in a Big Bear run. When are you guys planning to go? I take it its a camping thing also.
