Pics of 3rd Gen with PP 1" & 265/75/16 on Stock Wheels

Guys, I searched and search but couldn't find anything. It's 2:30am and I am trying to make some decisions here.

I just ordered my PP Springs and just picked up a set of stock 5 Star Limited wheels. Now I am trying to decide what tire size I should go with on my 97 2wd SR5. 265/70/16 or 265/75/16 or even 275/70/16. I am just looking for some help .

Bigger is better so go with the biggest size you can fit which is the 265/75s.

I have the Cooper Discovery AT's in 265/75's and they are great. They are exactly what i was looking for in a tire. They look great and ride great.

This is mine with brand new OEM ('99 taller version) coils at the time (a year ago) but the PP coils would have given me another 3/4s but still a good comparison.

Last summer next to an '01

I do think the stock coils tend to get soft by 80k miles. I have about 20k on my coils and they have settled about a quarter inch but still sits at 36" from ground to fender lip.
I'm planning on the OME 2.5" kit maybe by next spring but sliders are up next.

Ron,

I like your 4Runners look but before I go changing my '02 4Runner coils I wanted to ask how does this affect the highway ride of the car?

Being that my 2WD Runner won't see any extreme terrain the only benefit of the coils to me would be strictly cosmetic. I drive 30 miles to work every day at about 80mph the entire way, would it become a bit more dangerous/hazardous to do that with the small lift that I will get over my '02 coils?

I also understand that I would need to ask for '99 4WD coils, not just any '99 coils, is that correct?

My highway ride is fine and really isn't too much different than any of the other year's stock coils. The only diff is the taller '99s have one more wind in the coil.

I drive 80 on the highway fine.

Gettign actual taller coils will be a little bit of a hassle since they want your VIN and you'll get what came stock on your vehcile when they order them.

Try calling partznet or other vender or dealership and be very specific what you want.
