Pics of slip zerks...Is something wrong??

Ok, didn't get around to pulling the driveshafts yet. Grabbed a second grease gun and grease. Read too much and don't know which one to use. I read moly is great and then moly is smoke and mirrors. Read GM spec grease is the only grease that meets the manuf spec. Read a dealership mechanic ran next door to Ford and picked up some grease and the clunk was gone forever. I read that the tubes mixture is thinner/(read no-good) because properties have to be different for pumping? Good grief:redbrick:. So...I I'm going to pull the drive shafts and try to clean everything...what grease should I use see my options below. Please help:

FWIW I use the Mobil 1 grease:

Mobil USA | Car Care Products | Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease

I lube maybe 2 or 3 times a year which equates into once every 2 oil changes or so.

If you're really anal and it's driving you crazy there was a Lexus TSB for this exact problem which resulted in a lot of Lexus drive shafts being replaced. Unfortunately Toyota seems to care about Lexus owners more than plain old Toyota owners so we get nothing. But this guy purchased a Lexus shaft and put it in and it seems to have gone away.

I use Mobil 1 myself. Non moly and I dont think twice about it. Too lazy to keep up with two different greases/guns..

Well I attempted to pull the front driveshaft, removed the nuts beat on the area with rubber mallet...no luck.removed the zerks and grease shot everywhere. Violent clunk is gone but lesser clunk still present.I think somethings up with front propeller shaft will not accept grease. Whatever is pumped in exitsout of zerk hole when the zerk is removed.

Could very well be true. I found that greasing the rear shaft is what really helped me. If you end up replacing the shaft just buy the Lexus one so hopefully you won't have to deal with the clunk at all anymore.

Not sure what's going on with your situation, but I had the thunk a couple years ago and gave that spline joint about ten zerks of AmsOil lube, thunk never returned. I think there would be a max amount that could cause spline to not compress as it should.

Having the same issue...

I was greasing the front slip yoke of my 2004 v8 and had grease come out the of the u-joint side (like shown in prior pictures). Does anyone know if I will need to replace a seal or how I should proceed? Anyone else deal with this issue? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
