pictures not loading

Maybe I'm just a re****, but most of the pics in the threads are coming up with the "x" and not loading. Is there a setting somewhere I need to change? It's annoying to not see what everyone else is seeing......

clean out your temp folder? maybe the picture is dead?

sometime you have to refresh the page to see pix.
