Pictures of an amp wire install?

I have some speakers coming on Wednesday and I was going to go ahead and run my wires from the battery etc for a 4 channel amp.

Does anyone have any pictures they can post of where their amp wire is going through the firewall?

I have a 3rd Gen 4Runner. I didn't see any space to run the wire through the grommets from the engine bay and wasn't sure if that was the best thing to do or to just drill a separate hole for the power wire.

Cut a small incision on the engine bay side, and feed the power cable through. I used a chopstick to poke around on the drivers side foot well to locate and feed the cable through the rubber grommet. Should be a piece of cake, but when I did it the first time, I had a lot of concerns of breaking something. Installing amps was easier than I imagined.

Thanks kimboy! After I posted this thread, I found your thread and figured that would be the easiest way to do it.

Did you cover the slit after you ran the wire to prevent any engine fumes or whatever from coming through?

Not really. I think the slit is nominal and it won't be a problem. G/L. I thought changing speakers was impossible at first, but now, I've gotten past the myth, and it's really basic.

I did mine like kimboy as well , only instead of a slit , I used a large probe so the hole was round and pushed the wire through and it made a nice tight fit around the wire . Not a big deal but I'm way over fussy sometimes
