That's a great looking rig Challenger! Absolutely love the thundercloud sport models! Just need some wheels spacers to bring the wheels out flush with the flares, and take off those rubbing boards...er running boards. :guitar3:

yay another thunder cloud 3rd gen! Congrats on finally getting ur 4runner... so u got any plans on mods yet or is it gonna stay stock for a while?

How hard are the running boards to take off? I have been thinking about it, only positive I see to them is for putting things on the roof rack; otherwise I am sure it would look more streamlined without them
Nothing too major yet, focusing on paying it off mostly. With all of the country driving I am doing for work and seeing so many deer, I am either thinking an upgraded front bumper or a brush guard might be a wise choice.

Yep! Funny story, I learned a lesson in 4wd and momentum when I was on the little beach on the opposite side from where people usually go. Wasn't going anywhere till I backed up closer to the lake and got some speed going. Probably looked like an idiot

ya i say if u want more reassurance on the front bumper then go for either one... if u have the money for an ARB get it and if not then go with the brush guard. Many guys on here call it a "damage multiplier" but i used to have one and thought it was great. Some of the benefits were holding lights, pushing branches and brush out of the way, hitting shopping carts, and stopping cars in the parking lot that have the tendency to slightly roll after turning off the engine.
Well i got my ARB used on CL and it took forever to find one... the guy i bought it from actually lsot the bolts so that was also hard to find all the correct bolts i needed but once i got them i got the install done within about 3 hours though u DO have to cut ur end plates off the frame so u basically cant go back to stock after u install one.

Just nuts and bolts then I take it? Spose, I better try em off for a week, then decide if I want them on or not.

Yep. Just nuts and bolts. Super easy.
And I was just like you. Went back and forth on taking off my running boards. One of my hobbies is surfing and I was worried that without them, it would make taking my boards on and off more of a pain. It's really not and I couldn't be happier without them on there. It really cleans up the look of it. Especially if you lift it. Kind of a moot point anyways because I'm about to weld a set of sliders on it.

I ended up taking the advice of the many that said to do away with them and took them off last Saturday. Lets just say, they have found their grave in the shed
Pics to follow as long as the raining and miserable weather simmers down a little

Seems a ton less like something a woman would drive. I don't even know why I was skeptical in the first place, because I am loving it more without them!
On a side note, this is the first vehicle I have ever had that I have been totally content with (had a Cobalt and Impreza before) Cobalt was **** and obviously I wished I had a WRX with the Impreza. But, I honestly do not think I will ever sell my runner, it is without a doubt the best vehicle I have ever owned and that is only going off three weeks, so I cannot wait to see what the future holds :hungry:
