BTW : The description makes it sound like the thing has quite a few cosmetic blemeshes ... not to mention some stuff not working.
Most of the stuff they do to those cars on "Pimp My Ride" doesn't look like it would stand the test of time.

For 11 K I'd but it and cannabalize it for parts, selling everything else.
That Drivesoft computer system would look good in my truck as well as the KVH Direct TV antenna.

Says the tire pressure isnt working. I wonder if West Coast knew to take the sensors out of the old wheels and put them in the new. From what I can tell it looks like there is just a chrome valve stem in the wheel not the stem from the pressure sensor. Sux to not have that feature as it has saved my ass 3 times now.
I do not really like the look of this runner but it is cool that they "pimped" a 4R.

Pimp my ride cars are on Ebay all the time...and surprisingly they never go for much at all... Don't know why....
After looking at all those pictures that might be the sloppiest, install I have ever seen done by a professional place... if that was my work I might be ashamed to put my name on it.... the face around the dvd player in the glove box looks awful, the wiring under the passenger seat is a tangled mess, and looks bad...just sloppy workmanship.

The kid on the show was a student in school to be a mechanic. His old POS was in such bad shape (bent frame, bad motor I think) that PIMP my Ride gave him a new one (cough, cough, Toyota product placement). The joke was, "here's your new ride, keep going to school, so you can continue to work on your old ride"
That 4Runner is ass-ugly, but it is a Limited with 35K miles, with some sweet toys inside. For $11k, you can yank the cheese graphics and ground effects and repaint it black.
It'd be a pretty nice ride once it was pimped down a bit. Subtlety is key.

Looks like it took 35k for that thing to fall apart, looked good for its 23 minutes on tv though. I wouldn't think that WCC would do shoddy work like that. I'm sure they get rushed through their work and maybe they got sick of rushing their work and thats why MTV uses GAS now.

Yep, the only way I'd pay 11K for that is if I planned on parting it out. I also agree that Foose does far better work than West Coast Customs. He's welcome to come steal one of my cars anytime.
On a side note, I saw an article somewhere recently that said that PMR had dumped West Coast Customs for the upcoming season and was going with a custom shop that operated out of a Ford dealership. I'll be interested in seeing how that works out

It is pretty sad if my local tire shop knows all about the tire pressure montior system and a big place like west coast customs doesn't know about that. These kids seem so desperate on TV, but they are selling their "pimped" rides around a year later. This is not the first pimp my ride vehicle I have seen on ebay.
As for the 4Runner, I would pay 11k just for that beautiful interior alone!

No better way to trash a 4Runner than to give it to Pimp My Ride. Anything that comes off that show is as good as a pile headed to the scrap yard. Chip Foose on the hand, he can have Chris Jacobs come and steal all of my cars. There's no comparison between Foose Design and West Coast Custom. The laundry drier intake duct looks pretty custom.
IMO, West Coast Customs doing good work, what a joke! The shop looks like it's the back of some alley where people "slang rocks." I guess celebrities are blinded by the bling and junk they put on and it appears to be good. Like that time with the other current gen Corolla... I have no idea why they put four monitors in the the bumpers aft and fore the four wheels. Might as well use the monitors as mudflaps.

A pet peeve of mine...i hate it when people put in huge rims when the brake disc is so tiny in comparison!
I don't mind big rims, but it should be out of necessity (aka to fit big brakes). For example, BMW M5 or something has 19" rims but when you look at the rims, you don't see air...you see the brake disc. Putting in big rims with tiny brakes just magnifies the tiny brake discs so much more.

I remember when this one aired, they pulled that 4Runner into the shop, my first thought was 'oh no'
And I was right, they just ruined a Limited, They put an LCD screen where the spare tire is, so he can 'watch is training videos' while he's working on the truck. It was so lame.
It was a nice looking Runner when they first got it, then they go and ruin it with that green interior.
I wouldn't be suprised if that thing only goes for 15k. It would cost another 15k just to get it back to the way it was (lol)
