I bought one and decided it just wasn't gonna fill the cabin with sound enough for me(shallow mounts just don't produce deep bass) so I ended up selling it to a member on here...I am doing a full audio gut and replacement of the jbl system with polks audio seperates, 5ch amp, head unit sub ect...I don't want a box taking up my cargo space so am building one to fit in the factory location. there's some amazing 8" subs that will blow your mind but not that will fit in the factory enclosure, not to mention the abs enclosures just don't have great abdcoustics. I made a post recently gauging interest in a template that would make it simple for you to build your own enclosure to then specs needed for the sub you chose. you'd need mdf or Baltic birch if you can afford it, wood glue, flush trim router bit and router and that's basically it. the template will be aluminum and allow you to stick to your enclosure material and run the roller bearing of the flush trim bit along the template for a perfectly uniform cut every time. here is a pic, cut and stack as many layers as you need to gain the depth and volume needed for your sub..in the last picture of the enclosure installed its shown with as simple beauty panel that fits over the enclosure and is held on with double sided tape...that is a single 10" but I'll be using the 8" sub in the last 2 pictures. this will also allow you to choose between sealed and ported depending on sub choice and port tuning(if you have enough volume)
I will hopefully be starting in a week or so waiting on my first cnc template..
a little off topic from the pioneer but thought id just throw it out there as an idea if you or anyone would like a bit more bass and more full sound without taking up all your cargo area.
