Pipe Hanging Low

Is this pipe hanging lower than it's supposed to? I seem to recall that it was no lower than the frame but recently I looked only to find that it is a solid inch lower? Or am I crazy? Thanks! To give you a reference point it is hanging exactly as low as the lowest portion of the front skid, about 8.1".

You could get a URD Y-pipe. flows better and it doesn't sit that low.

Nope thats normal. it's the same on the taco and fj as well. To me its not how low it is, its how restrictive it is. To off roaders its how low it hangs and therefore it gets caught on rocks or whatever they drive over.

That looks normal to me, first time I noticed mine I thought it was smashed into that shape because of how unprotected it was.

It does look a smushed, doesn't it? Think there'd be a better way to have engineered that one.

I have noticed some sag over the past few years. That pipe rubs on the Bud skid every once in a while...I added spacers but it seems to be back. I think an easy fix (not sure about cost though) would just be to order a couple of new pipe holders. Fresh rubber should stop that or if someone made something out of poly it would be less likely to droop, but haven't looked into it that much.

What is a URD Y-pipe? Got any pics?
When I was having a less restrictive muffler put on, I saw that squished piece of pipe and thought WTF. Why am I putting on this muffler when that pipe is probably the most restrictive part of the exhaust.

Thats a good comparison. the y pipe and the headers are the most restrictive part of our exhaust system. I have the 1st gen long tubes and had great results, I'm saving up for the 2nd gen 1grfe long tubes and they are bigger and flow a little better. as for the y pipe you can run it without any O2 similar. it will be a little louder but you will pick up a few more ponys.
