Planning a Summer Trip

Hey guys,
So a friend on mine and me are planning a trip out to Breckinridge to do some biking and to explore with my 4R. So I have a stock 2004 4Runner. This is all I have done: removed running boards, roof basket, light bar, hcf removal. What all do I need suspension wise to be able to make it back home in one peice. I also have built a storage box with straps and come alongs.

You need nothing, a stock 4Runner is great for exploring. Carry a full set of recovery gear and go get dirty.

You'll need to air down so have a gauge and compressor. Stock 4runner should be fine on anything rated 3-4 by Traildamage.

You need to do the drive up to the weather station on top of Peak 10. It should be doable with a stock 4runner. I plan to try it this summer.

From what I've seen of Traildamage ratings for Utah trails, anything they rate a three is definitely doable for a stock 4Runner, and won't even tax your skills much. A good set of AT tires is about all I'd suggest.

There is plenty to explore stock, Webster pass, Georgia pass and multiple others within a few minutes of breck. Make sure you plan to ride at keystone as well...

Would a nice pair of sliders be a good investment?

Sliders and skids couldn't hurt, but careful driving will get you a lot of places without them. Good wheel placement and a copilot willing to stack rocks help a lot.

You'll almost certainly want them for anything rated five or higher. For most fours they'll be handy but not necessary, for threes and lower you won't even think about them.
