Planning my Projector retrofit

haha me too man me too! i ran into some problems with the projector not being solid in the housing. if feels solid to vibration but i can still move it with my hand slightly...
 
i dont think so, i gotta get them done by tomorrow though cause i need the truck by monday..

i kind hit a wall, im waiting to see what some of the folks say over at hidplanet about the projector being able to move. gosh, ive watched so my videos and have done so much research but i cant remember where they were now lol

ive had to take stuff apart and do it all over again a couple times now, i think im on the right track now though. the only concern i have is my broken adjustment nut that i loctited together. i hope the alignment will go good geez!

Best of luck. Those nuts are key for proper aiming. Although, with HIDs, the bottom adjustment nut is more important than the top one...simply b/c the bottom nut either raises or lowers the light cutoff. The top nut only turns the beam from side to side. Thus, make sure your good nut is on the bottom of your headlight assembly when you reinstall everything.

dah... yeah im pretty sure i broke the up and down one :ybrick: Now i wish i would have bought an extra set of lights haha is there a way i can swap the adjusting nuts?

thanks for the aiming info though, I dont really have a flat surface except in my garage, the outside is somewhat at a slant, i dont want to be driving around with out the lenses on my projuctors, can i just use a close up the the garage to get a good idea?
 
if you guys end up with the same kit as me this is how i got my shrouds to stick i used RSV Utral black sylicone. it was reccomened on HID planet
ive been letting these things sit for a while now so they should be solid by the morning

ive got them put together, all i got to do now is try to ge them back on the black adjusting things, aim them, put the glass on and connect everything up and ill be done!

so... im kinda pissed right now becaue i think we have a problem with the wireing...
the d2s adapters come with the same male ends as my ballasts!!! freaking yay. WTF do i do now?

i thought each bulb had both a male and female wiring connector? Therefore people stated it was impossible to plug the PnP HID kits incorrectly since one male from the bulb connected to ballast female and one female from the bulb connected to the ballast male?

lol! yeah i totally spaced that one haha! however now the wire that came with the projectors... i have no clue how to get this to work. i think its the hi/lo unit but it doesn't plug into the one that came with the HID kit

you should definitely do the alignment before you seal...I mean it may look alright now but the car needs to be 25 ft from a wall to make sure the step up is aligned with the drivers side and etc.

BUT...looking good man!! you might finish just in time to shoot some night pics (open road and against a wall) :hungry:
 
thanks man, haha you know i dont have any flat surfaces anywhere around me and i really dont want to drive around without my lenses looking for one. i dont know if thats a good idea...

the D2s has a groove in it to where it only fits one way uness you grind some stuff down. i think im just going to seal these babies up!

i dont think im going to cut the hi/lo wires, im just going to order some new ballasts that will work with these. sad day! lol its ok i just wont have a highbeam for a while
 
I don't know if these were answered I'm just glimpsing over all of it.

So one was that you had male and female those are same on both side because male plugs to female and vise versa.
Next is your truck is too close to the garage door to determine if it's straight and aligned.
A better thing is i noticed you said can't drive far. Just go outside your garage with the garage closed and go as far back as you can. Even if it's at the other end of the street.
Align it then. Make sure left is same step as right. Your passenger can be slightly higher for distance.
Then align the tilt make sure your lines are straight. Then mark it down and secure the mount and seal it :)

Your almost there!
 
One more thing you have to splice. Mines was the same it's a high low.
Not hard, just match the colors and when you click high beams it's open the solenoid. Just do it, it's easy. 2 wires.
I did the same with mines. I believe you have the same harness as me and I had to splice.
Do it and test before you seal and mount.
