I did my rear bumper in plasti dip then when I knew I liked the black I did the grill and front bumper and limited trim in bedliner I really like the look. I also did the center caps instead of the entire rim. Here's some pics. I couldn't find a pic of my rear plasti dip bumper on my phone so ill post one when I get home.

You guys pull of the emblems and then stick them back on with what?

Tuscon, I can't decide if I want to do that yet. It looks great, but I'm not sure I will like the texture and I want to paint it with automotive paint to look factory. Nice work though. I would just do plasti dip at first, but that will take some time.

Yeah the plasti dip of done right looks great. I've taken mine off roading and power washed it a handful of times and its still holding up. Are you gonna paint them on the runner or take everything off?

This was to me right? If so, I would leave everything on. I just wouldn't want to remove everything especially the flares and cladding.

Yup it was to you sorry. I had better luck taking the bumpers off because I was able to hit all the nooks and cracks and eliminate any dripping.

Did my rims about 8 months ago and they are holding up perfectly. Even can pressure wash them close-up and no peeling. I used almost an entire can on each wheel

I just did mine too just last week.
Would you be able to plasti dip the grey area around the license plate or would you have to take that off and paint it?
Also any ideas on turning the grey part on the bumper black as well?
I have the same color truck and this is what I plan on doing today. Ill post pictures.

Not sure about the frame around the license plate, but as for the plastic piece on the bumper, I've heard the mr clean magic eraser does some pretty good work on it. And I hit mine with tire shine and it lasted about 4-5 months. I'm sure if you used a plastic protectant it would last a lot longer

I just did all mine
I used Plasti-Dip on all my emblems last week. I liked it so much I ended up taking the body molding off. After that, I sprayed Plasti-Dip where the molding was. Makes the tires stick out a bit and just looks better. In my opinion. I also did my grill. It was chrome. Now I just need to get bumpers for the front and rear.

I plasti dipped my license surround. Mine was getting micro cracks over the entire thing and decided to cover it and forget about it. It's been on for more than 2 years and still looks great. I did the emblems the same time and have since removed the coating on those.
Since there seem to be a lot of imperial jade mica Highlanders on here I have a question.
How are your green painted plastic portions of your truck holding up? Door handles and surrounds, side view mirrors, plastic portion of the hood scoop and grill?
My hood scoop surround and door handles have fading and cracking clear coat. I plasti dipped my hood scoop as I don't have the time or want to take the 4runner in to get worked on and I think the black looks fine on green.
As for the door handles, they're door handles and deep down don't care how they look and plan on leaving them as is.

So around the inside of the lettering, do you use a razor blade to help trim off the area over the body paint? Seems like it would peel away from the emblems if you did not score it with something sharp.
If you guys want to turn the plastic black bumpers dark again, use Kiwi leather dye (not polish). It goes on easy with the sponge applicator and will last 1 - 2 years depending on your taste. I've used it many times on different cars with excellent results. One $5 bottle will easily do the whole truck. Kiwi 118011 Leather Dye | eBay

I did plasti dip on F-150 emblems, rims, rockers, and gas cap and I loved the emblems and gas cap, but I absolutely hated the rockers and rims. I liked the way it looked the first few months, but since I live in Idaho I was always out in the desert and sagebrush and it got ripped apart quick. I added multiple layers and it was still hard taking it off!! My advice...don't do it on rims or rockers!!!
