if i can talk my father into it, beings it technically his truck, i plan on blacking out my lights with special spray and pasti dip the slightly grey front lower bumper and wanting to blacken all the chrome. im wondering if you can plasti dip chrome? i think you can but the other option is like a $20 can and i think it just makes it dark chrome look. any insight on how it might look and things??

thanks

Yea it'll stick, and the cool thing about it is it will peel right off if you want it to. Make sure you explain that to your dad, that it's not permanent, but it will stick if you don't start trying to peel it up

i think you wont have much luck with the lights with plasti dip. i'm thinking plasti dip might just completely black it out and not letting light out. they have a thing at the autozone/autoparts store called nite shades. its meant to black out ur taillights. its in a rattle can and fairly cheap.

oh hell no im not going to plasti dip the lights, i got the night shade spray, but the bumpers did turn out great and the lights will be done tmro

Does it feel like it'll peel off easily? I might do this for my rusty rear bumper :bluejump:

well as i was removing the tape it was trying to before it cured properly, it looks great after the 3rd coat. i will put pics of it all on my thread tmro

The thing is is that Plasti Dip paint has by far been the latest craze in painting bumpers with especially chrome..I think anything else will provide you with less than satisfactory result...so I heard!

I'd still use an adhesion promoter just to be on the safer side...just me on Plasti Dip.

blcktpgsr have you used it?? the first coat looks like someone threw tar on it, 2nd covers most, and 3rd is the finisher. for me anyways. the stuff is quite cool

Ever since I read some of the recent posts in COB's build thread I've been wanting to do it like crazy :bigok:
Can you recommend a good adhesion promoter in a rattle can?

Personally i've never tried it but i hear it being used everywhere...must be really good...I'm still thinking as to where I can use one...Haven't heard anything but good of them.

well i blacked out the front lower blinders and just put them back on and they look sick against the black bumper. and the amber light now has kind of a orange/red color but is still bright when on :bigok:

well dang, i just ran out to my truck and with the black front and missing front guard i was like who is in my driveway

i did before i painted it but it does look better painted now without it, its funny lookin bc i cant remember it ever not having one

well you can all you want not only an i not getting rid of it but i will be getting a bigger one, we have to have one bc of deer, got it bc we hit one, and i push things with it
