Plasti Dip information center

I finally got the information needed to replace the bulbs in my climate control buttons. Since I had the console off anyway, I took the opportunity to Plasti dip the parts. I like the look of the top to bottom black flanked by the stock silver. It makes me wonder if I will do any more of the pieces.

Look at all the pretty orange lights that I have not seen in years.

I sprayed very thin coats every 30 minutes over the coarse of the entire evening. I understand that it takes 4 or more hours to completely set, but at this point I am skeptical of it durability. I know alot of you guys use this product and it has gotten very good reviews. We"ll see. lol.

I like the look. And you'll be suprised at how well this stuff holds up. Many have done there wheels (including me) and have had no issues. I just did my grill last weekend but I'm going to have to redo it as I rushed it and have a slight "bubble" in one corner that is annoying me. I'm really liking the interior bits done with PD and I'm going to try a few.

I have a big question about the wheels...Have you been through a car wash at all? Again, maybe it is more durable than I think, but it seems an automatic car wash would just peel the stuff right off.

I plasti dipped my center caps, badges, and entire rear bumper and I've washed it 4 times with the pressure washer and nothing is peeling yet.

Anyone have experience painting the chrome piece above the license plate on the tailgate of an SR5? I found info on the 5th gen, but nothing on 4th gen.

Check with TREVLOC, I believe he's done this.

i did it but mine was color keyed, not chrome. heres the link to my thread that takes you directly to it.

Was it difficult to remove the silver frame around the information center? Did you just pry it off?

Your mod looks great, would like to do the same--the glare from that frame's been bugging me for six years!

It is very simple. Remove the little storage compartment by opening and pulling up. Behind it is one screw. Remove and pull the HVAC center out.
