Plasti-dip interior molding anybody?

Has anybody done this? The molding in the rear of my truck is pretty scratched up and I was pondering the thought of doing this.

Nice! That looks really clean. Looks like I've got a new task at hand. I was actually wondering if anybody did the interior plastic molding in the cargo area but I didn't even think about doing what you did. Thanks for the pic and a great idea.

I had a Charger SRT8 that I did the the trunk with after installing a rear strut tower brace. Even through the trunk it had a strong Plasti-Dip smell up until I sold it a year later.

Maybe as a test, Plasti-dip some random object and keep it in the 4Runner for a while to see if the smell mellows out?

There was a smell inside for a while but it's not as strong as before. But if you are going to make it a wknd job i would say take it off and do it outside the 4Runner so the smell wont bug you later.

I did it also. The first time I stepped on it to reach for something, it peeled off. I then spent an hour with a wire brush scrubbing it off. A waste of time for me.

still looks as clean as the day i dipped it. all parts were done off the truck and only had a smell for a few days

well i was jinxed! my plasti dip on rear started peeling:doh:!!! so went back to the hardy auto parts store and bought a spray can of rhino liner paint. did it half a** but it looks pretty good for now. I need to go back and redo it correctly when it gets warmer.

Brushing off the dip with a wire brush actually restored the finish on my bumper guard. It got rid of all the chalky white crap so I was happy about that. I thought about spray bedlining it when I did my silver bumper insert but I've left it as is for now.

buy an 09 and you will see. it also has the rear window switch right below the two outlets
