plasti dip is great for badges and smaller items, but I think you will seriously regret spraying that crap all over your entire truck. First, it will get torn up by road debris, car washes, and weather. Second, it will be a gawdawful mess to remove when you get sick of it.
my .02, if you really want that look in those photos, use Monstaliner or similar product and do it right the first time.

I'd say tan.
Get 3 gallons of dip and 3 gallons of thinner (Xylene) and an electric sprayer. Follow the steps at DYC.com but don't buy from them. You can get the dip a lot cheaper at awarehousefull.com and Xylene from an AutoZone or the like.
As long as you take your time and put plenty of coats (at least 6-8), it's actually pretty durable. The more coats you put on, the easier it comes off. :thumb:

Well, we have it on a few test vehicle cruisers. It has been less than a year and it looks pretty rough. Just the road debris alone wears this stuff thin. Seems like a lot of effort for what it is. But hey, give it a shot if that is what you want. You might be lucky, and if not just get rid of it.

Finally someone that understands that you need to put on more than 2-3 coats to call it good. 6-8 coats and it comes off in HUGE chunks way easier and is durable as paint is if done right. So dumb when people think it will come off in flakes or some crap. Yes it will if you put on 2-3 coats...

Hey guys!
I want to plasti dip my 02 4runner (entire vehicle) in either camo tan or camo green. I know-you think I'm crazy to do that. What looks better? Tan or green?
Personally not a fan of Plasti-dipping an entire vehicle. But i don't see any reason you shouldn't do it if that's what you like.
As for the colors, I really dig the matte tan on that Porsche. If I had the cash to repaint my truck I would probably want that color or something similar.

They are Police cruisers. Not mine, but the department's. Road conditions. Lots of use. Not babies. They were testing the idea of switching over to black & whites. So they wrap a black car in the middle with white wrap. They didn't go for it. It's too aggressive for Seattle. Lol.
But, this may be a bit different as it is a commercial wrap vs. straight DIY plastidip. So take my observations with a grain of salt.
I have really liked a few of the monostat liner painted vehicles. I know that is more of a final destination. But I really like a purpose driven look that they offer.
Just have the whole thing powder coated! That would be awesome!

Not anti plasti-dip, just anti plasti-dipping your entire vehicle. Simply put, it won't last. It just wont.
You say you looked at monstaliner but it was too expensive. I promise you it will be a negligible difference after numerous touchups, or peel-offs and re-sprays. I get the permanence factor with the monstaliner....but you're already trying to change the entire color. Plasti-dip won't be as easily removable as youre led to believe when you're spraying an entire vehicle.
Just do it right the first time.

Agree dipping a entire vehicle if it is done 100% right and stays paved roads is still a gamble. Soon as you off road it and brush up against a strong bush it will screw it up. If you want flat see if Maaco will do a flat primer only coat.

You need thinner because it is too thick to use in a air gun.
I like the tan (not on a Porsche though!!) best. Hope it works out! If it's road only it'll be ok but if you frequent gravel roads and such it might wear out a bit quicker I would think.

I've seen plenty of cars down here with full plastidip and they hold up just fine. Do it right, it will last.
Now what I HAVEN'T seen is any off road vehicle have a full plastidip. I'm not sure how well it would hold up going against all that brush and mud and junk.
But, to answer your question, that tan looks exactly 365,546.6 times better than the green, imo.
