Post your pictures of your plasti-dip wheels. How long ago you dipped them. How their holding up. And what process you used (# of coats, dry time in between coats, clear coat or no clear coat, etc.).

Im thinking about doing this myself. I have been doing research and think it would help me and future dippers out if all this info was in one place. Plus it gives you a chance to show your wheels off:thumb3: . Thanks everybody.

Actually I just did mine yesterday. So I can't say how they are holding up. As far as process I removed the wheels and scrubbed all of the nastiness off of the tire. Then I did four coats with about 15-20 minutes between coats. I didn't cover the tire like some suggest because it is plasti-dip so you can just peel it off the tire. I think it turned out well. uploadfromtaptalk1431961963104.jpguploadfromtaptalk1431961983328.jpg

How did you keep it from peeling off the wheel when you peeled the tire? Did you cut around the rim first or what?

The gap in between the tire and the rim does that part for you. I suspect that unless you fill that gap with plasti-dip it wouldn't be a problem. I just peeled mine off no cutting.

18" limited plasti dipped

I sprayed these with Plasti-Dip over a year ago on an everyday driver. Holds up extremely well. When I had my tires balanced, the shop buggered them up. I touched them up with no masking. Stuff is pretty neat especially for cost vs. cool factor. I sprayed 1 can per wheel. Its about 4 coats face of the wheel and in side the drum. Go for it. Just remember to prep with some degreaser or alcohol.

Mine are getting painted on Saturday. I thought about dipping them, but I decided to go permanent. I'll post pics this weekend.
