plastic "armor"

Just saw a jeep at my dealership, has "armor". but when i got up close to the jeep and was looking closer at the "armor", it was plastic!! didn't know that they made plastic foux "amor". i looked really good though, didn't look cheap, and it would offer some LIMITED protection against branches and such when trail riding. BUT, it was being held in place with some sort of double sided tape. i'm sure you could fasten it better, or even drill it to the body (but its plastic so probably not). i was wondering, is there a company that makes similar peices for 2nd gen runners? i'd be interested to see what it looks like and might look into outfitting the rig with that. i know i know, its plastic and won't be nearly as strong as steel armor, but its lighter material and would still offer SOME light protection. just curious. any info would be awesome! i included some pics of what was on the jeep.

Pass. It might help you "slide" against stuff, but its just going to dent the metal under it. That would be only for looks, maybe stick scratch protection...? Maybe he has rust holes he trying to cover up... ?

The same dude also has his Hilift mounted on the back bumper where it will bend/break when he backs it into stuff because he cant see because he mounted right in front of a back up light....

For 4runners your only option would be to have something custom made, but for the price you would benefit from just buying real armor. Plus, scratches add character.

yea, you guys are right. just thought it would have a "cool" factor, until real armor is bought. anyways, it looks nice at least, couldn't tell it was plastic until i got up close. yea, i saw where he mounted that the jack, not my first place to put it.lol. thanks for the feed back guys!
