Plastic Flender Wells

Hi guys,

Just did the Tundra Brake Mod to my front end of the my 2000 4Runner and after dealing with a night mare of a job (Rock Auto sent me rotors for a 5 lug nut wheel not 6 which caused me to run out and buy the right rotors) I took the truck for a test drive and I am now rubbing on the plastic inside fender wells. I'm running 265 75 r16 tires. To clear the new calibers I installed 1.5" spacers and now my tires are rubbing when I cut hard left or right.

Basically I wanted to know what my options are without having to do a lift (currently sitting at stock height). Is it safe to just rip out the plastic well and just spray paint a protective coating? This is my daily driver with the occasional trip out on the beach and doesn't get into the mud at all.

I appreciate your help in advance!

rather than rip it out, see if you can heat it and push it back. you can get a cheap heat gun at harbor freight.
