I got a pair of these bump stops to compare with the Wheelers Super Bumps that I’ve been running for the last couple years. I’ve overall been pretty impressed by the Super Bumps, but since they aren’t designed for our vehicles (made for 2nd gen Tacoma’s), there was obvious room for improvement. Well I think [MENTION=146407]Plastics guy[/MENTION] nailed it on these!
So going from stock bumps to these will be a HUGE improvement. Instead of instantly bottoming out on the hard stock bump stops, giving you a harsh bottom out. These bumps are taller and softer giving a nice progressive feel when you hit your bump stops. This will make hitting larger bumps much smoother and give you more confidence offroad.
What I like about these over the Super Bumps is that you aren’t almost riding on them at ride height. These give you a little extra room for wheel travel before they engage. Another thing I like about these is that they are firmer, so they don’t bottom out near as easily. The Super Bumps are very soft so I was still bottoming out quite often on the bigger hits. Whereas with Plastics Guy’s bumps, I have yet to feel like I’ve completely bottomed out, which is great because I’ve hit some decent stuff (some mild jumps and whoops) and it still felt very controlled.
One thing that takes some getting used to is on the slow speed dips and drop offs, you can actually feel the bumps engage, where the Super Bumps were so tall and soft that you didn’t actually notice them make contact. Pretty nice, but the trade off is that they are too tall and soft to give a good progressive feel at the bump zone of your suspension cycle. You don’t notice them engage on harder hit, just the slow speed dips n stuff.
The quality is great. There is definitely some thought that has gone into these that you can see right away. From the tilted design for a proper contact angle, to the little notch to help you easily align it in the proper direction.
I took some comparison measurements from my Super Bumps and got the following:
Bump Stop Height
Super Bumps - 2.875”
Plastics Guy - Tapered 1.875” to 2”
Hardware Height
Super Bumps - .875”
Plastics Guy - .875”
Comes with necessary hardware and some loctite

You can see where the contact marks were for the stock bump stops, and the Super Bumps. You can even see the metal on metal contact that happened when the bump stop hardware made contact with strike pad. That was because the Super Bumps were too soft, especially at the end of the bump zone.
So overall I am very impressed with the quality, and feel of these bump stops. I definitely recommend these to everyone. Our stock bumps are just too short and firm to handle what we do with our vehicles. Do yourself and your rig a favor and pick up a set of these things. For the cost, it’s a no brainer!
