Plastidip Emblems

You seem real picky about the answers you’re getting from people mostly trying to help. Why don’t you just spend 5 bucks on a can and take 30 minutes to try it out yourself...

Not picky, just specific. I understand that there are a lot of threads and tutorials on applying plastidip. I've done it before with great success, I'm familiar with the product and process, but in all my research of recent I was unable to find any info on anyone who tackled the latest TRD Off Road emblems. Those emblems provide some challenges that I was unsure would work out.

I realize a lot of folks get all worked up, don't read anything in total, and just key in based on a word or two such as "plastidip." Most those folks get excited to reply with generalized information to a specific question rather than anything that pertains.

I have plastidip but don't have the time to spend on doing it if it's a task that won't yield the results I would like. If choosing to ask advice from those who have possibly done it in the past is a bother to you I apologize. It's just me being efficient with my time.

For those who have helped or tried to help, thank you.

Yeah, I can agree with what you're saying, but again, with the time you've spent posting here and researching you could've had your answer already by just walking out to your truck and trying it. That's the part I don't get.

Just trying it isn't an instant thing. To attempt it to the level I'd want would take a couple hours if it all went perfect.

Working a standard 45ish hours a week, time for photography business in evenings, couple hours a day commuting, basic household duties, and a house full of kids means my extra time isn't as plentiful as is for some. Rather than spend a couple hours experimenting it seems more efficient to research a little first during my few minutes here and there that I can.

You said 3 times as much, I must have misread
No worries. I looked on eBay and they were $170ish. Clicked your link and saw it for under $100 but the listing was gone when I tried to purchase. Searched some more and came across another for $95 so snagged them up. Thanks for the heads up.

Heh, it was active when I posted it, someone else on here must have snagged them up

I tried Google first. Plenty of emblems being done which I expected, but not a single report of anyone successfully, or unsuccessfully, doing the TRD Off Road emblems of the newer years. There are some little intricate gaps that I wasn't confident could be taken care of nicely.

It's ok though, those who understood the question have provided good relevant feedback. I'll presume those who assume a simple search would reveal the proper info have never actually tried to find it or misunderstood the question.

I totally Understood your question, passive aggressive much? And I did in fact used Plasti Dip on my own 4Runner, to understand what your worries were, but if your google search failed you, you must have not understood how to search google well enough to bring out the info you seek. Photo's of TRD OFF-Road Plasti deep isn't going to help you, granted. Your question is loaded in my own option. Therefore my own Recommendation would be try 5-8 coats of the dip. wait a week and see for your own self how well it works. Youtube on how to apply Plasti dip too! LOL

Call it passive aggressive if it makes you feel better but it was simply blatant honesty. I asked a very specific question because searches on here, google, and elsewhere on the intrawebs did not yield results or answers that helped my application. Even still just now, weeks after asked and solved, you still want to offer advice that was never requested or needed.

It's all good though, despite your failed effort to help, others did provide useful information that gave a quick resolve. Thankfully the helpful members seem to outnumber the ones who can't read an entire question before spouting off an unrelated answer or assuming one didn't search.

Perhaps in the near future I'll post another question and you can have one more shot at attempting to be helpful.

Have a wonderful day.
