I misunderstood what you meant by sides. Um, I feel like I've seen a pic on here that is what you're talking about, let me see if I can find it

Are you talking about the indents on the hood where it raises the hood a bit? From past experience, plasti-dip works well if it has something to grip or wrap around for all edges. If you try to plastidip a specific area or spot within the hood, it would peel off pretty easily.

They're like the accent lines/stripes, above the handles and on the hood.

not raised.

above the handle to the fender on the front, and above the handle to the rear on the back.

and that picture, you see how he used those lines and dipped the space between? those are lines i'm speaking of.

I was going to post my pics, but they beat me to it. I used plastidip a while ago and its still holding up great.
I just bought a sport hood and its getting painted...when in get it back its getting plasti-dipped the same way.

You're talking about the gold (at least I think thats what its supposed to be) pin stripe on my doors and from side to side on my hood correct? Are you asking if anyone has painted over them or added pin stripes to their runner? mine came like that but I am sure that you could probably pick up some sort of vinyl or sticker to create your own

Do a quick search on YouTube. I remember seeing a guy that had those accents PD'd but I thought it looked kind of cheesy, but everyone has their own taste when it comes to personalizing so go for it, I think it would hold up pretty well if applied right.

I can tell you already that it's not going to look good. Those little creases are to break up the lines of the panels in a relatively subtle way. The 3rd Gen is a '90s car, and '90s cars don't have clean belt lines.

Besides, if you're gonna paint the sides, you should do some old school 4Runner graphics. :)

GOt sick of looking at the peeling clear coat on hood so I plasti dipped black down the middle and gray on the sides. Good for now
