plate bumper and TRD springs?

recently had an accident which crumpled the front bumper own my 02 Runner. I am thinking about going with the 4x Innovations front bumper as a replacement. I currently have Tundra TRD springs on the bottom perch of "4runner" 5100s, 5100 and OME 906 in the rear. The rear unloaded sits around 1/2" higher than the front. The bumper weighs in at about 100 lbs, are the TRD springs adequate to use with a plate bumper? guessing I may have to move up to the 3nd perch possibly or the bumper weight should not compress the springs that much? Also I have 32" tires, do aftermarket bumpers look goofy with 32s? lol

I had that setup on the second perch with the 4xInnovations bumper and it had quite the noticeable rake. Rode fine, but I ended up switching to Kings recently.

Don't sweat it, OP, he has LC29 wraps in the rear :bounce:

But seriously, how many miles your TRD springs? If they are used/older they probably won't sag too much. The bumper swap you are considering will only add about 50# up front once you remove everything necessary to mount an aftermarket bumper.

You can simulate the aftermarket bumper by adding some weight to the front end (50# bag of sand) and measuring how much it drops (fender flare to the ground) before you ever turn a wrench.

Funny thing about mine, I bought the springs brand new from Camelback right before they apparently doubled in price. I'm hoping my new steel bumper/tire carrier will bring the back end down some, and then I can adjust my fronts up some if need be. It's been a while since I put them in, but I want to say the rear springs are OME 890s.

No problem with springs, shock dampening probably going to be soft with the extra weight since you have Runner 5100's.
I had the SS1.2 lift on 96Red Tundra TRD springs, Tundra 5100's. The winch and mounting plate I added behind factory bumper
was a tad over 100 lbs rode fine. I would go with what you have raise the perch a notch see how it does.

A 1/4" top plate spacer would net you a little less 'lift' than a full perch on the 5100's, which is also an option for you. Easier to install, too...

Measure center of hub to fender lip before and after. Compare and see what you want to do. If less than 3/4", go with the small top plate spacer...

Only for the 1/4" spacer. Anything larger and you need to put in longer top plate studs, which requires shock disassembly. The 1/4" spacer (nets ~0.5" lift) might be all you need though.

No you just remove nuts holding strut to tower put spacer between tower and top hat.
