Please help diagnose!

I recently had issues with p0773, I ignored the code until recently when the truck stopped shifting into forward and reverse. So I dropped the pan replaced all three solenoids, cleaned out the filter and put everything back together. I filled it back up with MotoMaster multi-vehicle ATF and fired the truck back up. It definitely fixed the solenoid issue however now there is a shudder/slippage between gears when I punch it. If I drive like a grandma I can avoid the shudder/slippage but thats no fun.

The fluid is slightly above where it should be. Would this cause shudder and slippage between shifts? Would flushing the trans possibly resolve the issue or am I wasting my money? I've heard changing out old fluid for new can compound trans issues but I'm not really convinced on that idea. Any insight or advice into this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Changing old fluid only compounds it if you do some sort of power flush that could kick up particulates back into the transmission. If you just did a drain and fill that would not do anything bad.

didn't power flush, just did a drain and fill after replacing solenoids and cleaning the filter.

Went for another drive and it only seems to do it from second to third gear

It sounds like a dirty valve body. When was the last time the fluid had been replaced?

That good news given, you can try using some Lubegard in the red bottle or Lucas trans slip additive. Drain some ATF, add, and refill. I have seen it help.

Try and get the ATF to the proper level too.
