I've Google'd ,searched here pretty much everywhere and still cant seem to find what I am looking for. Is there a way I can bring the mesh flush or closer to the frame of the grille? Any help to point me in the right direction is appreciated.

You just need to cut more off the grill. People don't it because of the work involved. You'll need to make sure your cuts are perfectly straight or you'll see waves in the mesh.
NasaE30 Heres one I did about a month ago top and bottom flush
You will see zip ties in the first couplke pics looking closely that was just
to get it lined up in place before flipping the whole grill over and using Permatex Black Plastic Welder bonding the mesh to the grill frame.
It only took a couple hours to complete everything.. If you need and help with the details let me know if this is what your wanting to do.
I appreciate the feedback guys. The pictures are a big help. Im going to try this after I get back from vacation. I've got a 98 grille, and just bought a 98 front bumper set to fully backdate the front end. Ill order the grille mesh here soon, I like the round hole style. Ill post pics when I finish up
