Please help - New to 4Runner!! - Trying to get IPOD into Toyota 4runner -

Hey guys, i just got a used 2003 4Runner since it was the only thing that fit my budget because im in college. It has the built in GPS but i realized that the cd player and casette player are behind the GPS screen. So my question right now is, if i wanted to play my ipod for the long drives home, how would i go about doing that? i dont think my car has the that audio jack that the newer models do and if i use a casette adapter for my ipod, how would i get the wire behind the gps? Thanks in advance to anyone with tips!

You can get an iPod interface adapter from Dice Electronics for about $150. Peripheral Electronics also makes one that works with nav.

The other alternative would be a USA-Spec auxilary input add-on.

I don't how much clearance there is between the screen and the face where the cassette deck is. If you route the wire, I say run it up towards the top, so as the screen closes, it will push along the wire. I don't remember, but I think there guides that right down the sides for the screen.

The last alternative would be a FM transmitter, like an iTrip or Belkin. But the sound quality isn't so great and on a long drive, you'll have to fiddle with different frequencies. On a 6 hour drive, I probably changed frequencies about a dozen times.
