It is to help Keep Johnson Valley, better know as the Hammers where KOH "King of the Hammers" is held.

The Marine Base (29 Palms) that is close to Johnson Valley is trying to close Johnson Valley OHV area for base expansion.

Johnson Valley is an extremely popular place outdoor place for people to use ATVs, dirt bikes and jeeps, among other things. I have been there before and am headed back out there again in February.
