Please help, went through deep water, will not crank.

So some buddies and I were all hanging out, and in the back of my friend's neighborhood, there is some good mud. We went back there, I was tearing it up, there were ruts from someone who had done it weeks before, I was following them, then my front right tire dropped into 2.5-3 feet of water. my motor immediately quit. it was up to the top of the bumper on the right side. water came in the door. My buddy with a jeep had to pull me out. never thought I would have to say that, rip 4runner. we tried cranking it, it makes a very loud repetitive noise, it is not turning over, the battery is strong. There is a little bit of water and dirt in the air box, but I think it didn't get through. It is the next day, we tried to crank it again, same exact thing. I'm very mad at myself, so is my mama. Any advice on what may have gone wrong and how to fix it would be appreciated. thanks, will include pictures.

Pull spark plugs then crank it. Hope for the best.

Sounds like the water did get through.
Did you check the oil?

Pull all 6 plugs out. I would take a shop vac and tape you a small hose to it and stick it down into the cylinder and make sure most of it was out. Then you can see if it will turn over without the plugs in it. If it will then put the plugs back in make sure the oil looks ok and try to start it. Even if the oil looks ok and it starts I would change it soon.

Pull all 6 plugs out. I would take a shop vac and tape you a small hose to it and stick it down into the cylinder and make sure most of it was out. Then you can see if it will turn over without the plugs in it. If it will then put the plugs back in make sure the oil looks ok and try to start it. Even if the oil looks ok and it starts I would change it soon.

I will do that, I do not know what happened though, i have searched the forum and people go through water even deeper, on both sides, and they do fine without snorkels or anything

And there are people who go through water and it makes it into the cylinders. Don't assume that just because others have done it successfully that yours didn't ingest some water. The fact that it won't turn over says it did and hopefully you don't have any bent connecting rods.

Well guys i fugured it out, thank yall so much. What happened was, i hit the bottom of the rut filled with water. my car stopped suddenly. somehow this knocked two spark plug boots loose, it is a miracle that I identified the problem. I pushed them back in, hooked it up with jumper cables, and after a while i got it started and it is running fine with no warning lights. I will change all of the fluids in the front end, minus coolant.
