Plug in LED vs Whole taillight LED

Didn't see a post making a comparison but has anyone compared replacing the stock tail light bulbs with LED bulbs vs replacing the whole tail light with a LED set up like DEPO? I was wondering if there was a difference between the 2 in over all light increase or are they same because it's still LEDs just different styles of replacements.

but either should be an increase, personally i just don't like the way they look.

you also need to take into consideration the lenses as if they refract light a ton the improvements will be negligible,

i agree about the lenses, the stock lenses will diffuse the light a lot which will make your more visible than the stock lighting, but the design of the full led tail light replacements are designed to properly disperse the led light and should put out better light.
