Hi all,
I'm more of a BMW enthusiast but I bought an '00 SR5 V6 4x4 with a 5-speed manual and 210k miles that's in pretty good shape yesterday to get me places where my 3-series won't go for hiking and skiing in the Pacific Northwest. I recently got a divorce and my ex took the car that I formerly used for stuff like that, so I got a chance to seriously upgrade my offroad ability and get into places I wouldn't dream of going in a Subaru Outback.:cheers:
The 5-speed is fun to drive even if the throws are seriously long compared to what I'm used to, and even with 210k miles, the 3.4 liter is smooth and powerful. What a nice old truck. I come from a family of Jeep owners and considered an XJ Cherokee, but it's really hard to find a decent one. Most have been seriously hacked up and turned into wheeling rigs.
I threw a new stereo head unit in it today that'll stream music via my phone via Bluetooth. Future upgrades include painting the fender flares to get rid of some ugly scuffs. Brakes will come soon (possibly the Tundra brake upgrade) and after that, who knows.
