Good to see that there are at least a few of us @ 400+k! I suspect as time goes on, more and more 4Runners will be hiting this mark.

Yep, my '99 is my daily driver. I drove her from MD to NC to Ohio and back to MD last month without a worry.

The key? Never miss a 30,000 mile engine service. Standard plugs, air filter, throttle body and MAF cleaning. that's about it.

Just clocked 110k on my 98 base model 3RZFE. Is the 4 cyl just as reliable? This is my first T4R, or Toyota in general. Very comforting seeing these mileages.

1st 3rd gen ('96 SR5 V6 5spd 4x4): 254,000 when sold.
2nd 3rd gen ('98 limited V6 auto 4x4): 183,000 when totaled.
3rd 3rd gen ('98 limited v6 auto 4x4): 341,411 and counting.

Crazy how much value these trucks hold at such high mileages. You can get a 2006 LR3 for basically the same price at 100k

My 1997 just turned 96000 miles - and I bought it new! For 10 years I had a company van, so the 4Runner didn't get used too often. Now that I am retired it still doesn't get much use. Last year I only drove it for about 2400 miles .

But it looks almost new - it has never seen road salt and it is kept inside so the harsh sun and uv light here in Arizona doesn't get to it.

I have 203,000 miles on my 97 Limited. I bought it in 2011 with 143K from the original owner who had it serviced every 5K miles and kept it in great shape in California. I have been doing the same and replacing wear items as well. I love my truck and it is almost like new with just a little wear on the driver seat leather. Now it's not my DD so I'm only putting about 3-400 miles a month on. Life is good.

mine is at 278k so i too chose 275k. on it's 3rd Timing belt, but original motor, trans and axles.

Just turned 166,000 2 weeks ago. DD it a lot this winter.

I voted 175k since its the closest to 166k. Only things replaced that hadn't been broken by my younger and just as dumb self was the t-case front output seal and the steering rack. Been in the family its whole life (bought from my parents in '08).

Valve covers are the next maintenance item coming up, going to try and do them myself..

Going to try and keep it as long as I can and see how far she'll go!
