4th Gen (v6) Mileage issues
In light of all the posts on this forum regarding poor gas mileage of the v6 (maybe v8 too) I'm tempted to know how many folks would consider participating in a suit against Toyota.

1. YES
2. NO
3. I don't get poor mileage ( I get the advertised MPG;16/21 for V6, 14/18 for V8 )

Inspiration for this is from a recent article about an attorney vs Honda about the poor MPGs from her Hybrid (Honda Hybrid Lawsuit: Court Seeks More Information On Heather Peters' Case)

Note: to keep the haters yes I have 265/70 tires but should I really get 14MPGs? from 425 mile range down to 320 ?

Gimme a break dude. You're "that guy", aren't you. You get what, like ~2mpg less than advertised in the cold with winter blend gas?

Understand that. Ive got 33's (almost) and get avg of 16.5, but then again i expected that when i lifted it and put on heavy rims and tires.

BTW, congrats on the Audi S5, love my runner but man do I miss my A4...
 
can i participate with my fj its got 33's and i got 15mpg driving up and down the hill to work. unfortunetly my 4runner gets 19mpg around town

Yea I'm the guy that gets 14MPG avg year round. I'm that guy that stands up for what he believes in. If you bought a brand new house & it took a crap on you in a few years and didn't live up to it's claim you wouldn't do a thing would you? I see you're THAT guy. :)

How many are you getting to a tank? Didnt you have a long post about this in the past and a bunch of people came up with ideas and nothing worked?

In regards to not having money to burn.... Why dont you trade it in on something like a Camry??? Your truck still has good residual value. Wouldn't that save you a lot of headache?

yea my 4runner is rolling on 265/65/17 thats about to change soon. but hey i cant complain about gas cause the tax payers pay for mine :biggrin2:
 
Just took mine on a 300+ mile trip, running a mix of 87 and 93 chevron. Averaged 75-85 mph and 19mpg (hand calculated). Ill take it considering my heavy foot and what im driving. Ill admit there are v8's getting better mileage than me, but I knew what I was buying when I got it..

To the OP, give it a rest. You have a modified 4runner (ie tires) and you're getting less than advertised mileage. Big surprise........

You know what, sue them, it'll be interesting to see where that goes. If you have the money to spend suing Toyota then getting 2-3 less mpg than advertised shouldn't be a big issue. I believe I speak for a lot of other member when I say this but we're all tired of hearing you ***** about your mileage. Suck it up and deal with it or GTFO.
 
You do realize that Toyota does not do the testing for miles-per-gallon, right? They are just posting the numbers that they are given by the EPA....
 
In what activities will I be participating in with Toyota while wearing my suit?

Remember gents while wearing a single breasted jacket only button the top button while standing. Also opt for a suit without pleated fronts on the pants. Pleats were created to make plump gentlemen appear thinner but does quite the opposite.

Wow all the hate trying to make lite of the situation, it's one of the perks of my job. The downsides responding to your neighbors complaining about a rock in te road, or a suspicious vehicle outside their house just to find out oh it was their neighbor didn't recognize the car.
Besides I'm not the reason were in recession, you can thank all the re****ed lending.
And if yours still butt hurt I could mail you some midol
