poor mileage, runs rich help plz :)

hi all just joined your forums here and have been poking around some. Looking for a little help if i may, problem is my 4runner runs pretty rich, and lacks power, ive done a tune-up and the normal maint. Thing is its always run rich since ive bought it (a little over a year ago). I was wondering if theres someway to lean it out a bit, its pretty sluggish and gets pretty bad mileage. Just looking for any little bit of help to make the truck run better.

yeah you can open up your air flow meter and turn the little gear clockwise a click or two at a time and then put the cover back on and pull your efi fuse for 30sec so the ecu can reset and try that keep adjusting until it is normal again, if you go counter clockwise it will richin the mix. If your afm is already cut open you know someone has messed with it before and turned it up to rich, that was the prob with mine!
