popping sound when going over speedbumps or up/down inclines

04 V8 full-time 4wd with 105k. Does not have X-REAS suspension.

I hear the sound when I back out of my driveway (30-degree angle), or go over speedbumps, both at 5mph or so. From both front driver-side and rear driver-side areas.

Does this car have steering stops? I did a search and it came up on some hits for the 3rd gens, don't know about this one. But on those, it seemed like the problem was with sharp turns and mine is popping from bumps.

Could sway bar links or ball joints make this sound?

yea, just clean off old grime and put some tacky lube there.

You need to either crawl under there yourself or get it up on a rack so you can inspect everthing underneath. Check for broken shock mounts, bad bushings on all parts or a broken tie rod end, sway bar end links, ball joints...etc. My wifes 3rd gen had it and it was a broken sway bar end link. Dont forget to check obvious things too. I had a clunk in the back going over bumps and it turned out to be the jack for the truck not being secured from the previous owner. Sounds like front sway bar links to me. Make sure they Tightened
