Porsche or Tundra CV Boot Part #s

I need to replace my outer CV boots with longer ones either Porsche or Tundra. Does anyone have the part #s for them? I've done a search, but can't seems to find them.

His outter boot keeps pulling off the CV...the Porsche boots are longer and flex more to stop them from pulling off and shooting grease everywhere and they are the same size.

All Pro sells a "hi angle" outter boot for $30/each and people are saying they are just 930 boots marked up like crazy but heres a link on that: Long Travel Outer C.V. I got bored and looked this sh!t up for ya Bob. I have not done the mod yet thus i am only repeating what i read.

You can't get "High Angle" 4runner CV boots from autozone but you can get replacement Porsche boots all day long.


The reason you can use a tundra boot is because the Tundra CV joint is a 6 ball design. the 4runner is tri lug design. The tundra boot clamps on to a smaller flange on the face of the cv joint while the 4runner boot is clamped to the entire outside of the cv joint.

So the real question is - Why put a Porsche part on a Toyota? :lol:

A catarac alternator on a 4Runner? Could you use a Rincoln Continental alternator as well?

Thanks Zack. I was beating my brains out looking for those...and now Rack and Pinion Outer Tierod end boots......ANYTHING ELSE WANT TO BREAK????? Damn 14yr old parts.

As far as "high angle" boots go, I'm pretty sure they don't exsist, from what I've found the boots that All Pro sells are just 930 boots and that kind of crap is why I refuse to do business with All Pro. I understand they're running a business but to mark up a $10 boot to $30 is outrageous!

930 is the chassis code...it's an 80's (78-86 IIRC) body style 911...not sure where you got 1997 from...

EDIT: just realized your Runner is a 97...probably what you were talking about...

From what I understand it's just as simple as unhooking the large boot ring, sliding the boot up like one fin, then redo the ring again. It's called "boot mod" or something like that.

Sorry, I didn't understand your question there. You can use just a stock boot for the inner. You can just use the "boot mod" to fix it so the fins don't rub. Check RockAuto for the part.

Get a replacement boot and do the boot slide mod, look it up on TTORA. Like Bob said, its as easy as sliding the new boot farther on the CV so that the fins don't rub together and you'll stop blowing boots.
