Possible 3" lift!!

Well, I have another annoying question for all the 4runner pros in here. I decided i will probably lift my runner with a 3" lift. just need to know what kind and about what you think the price should be. i think it will add a little personality to the 4Runner. 'Preciate it guys!!

Sorry man, I don't know of any 3" lifts for the 4runner. Actually I really don't even think anyone makes lift for the 4runner yet...

I got mine from Downey off road. I am really pleased with the way it looks and the ride.

As for me. I think that the lift itself does not affect performance, it's the giant wheels and tires that the lift kits allow you to install that affect performance and gas mileage.

My wife, on the other hand, feels there is a positive effect to performance with a three inch change to stock equipment.

I agree!!! I love the way his looks. I hadn't really thought about a lift until I saw pics of his ride. Now I'm getting one very soon.

What is the exact model of that lift kit you have? It looks higher than the 3" one, is it different?

Here's the measurement on the Downey Kit.

Front: 33"
Rear: 36"

Final Measurements: *
Front: 37.5"
Rear: 37.5"

Btw, these measurements are with the stock 265/70/16 tires. I'll be picking up my new MTR's (285/75/16) tomorrow and I'll redo the measurements for everyone.

As for the Downey kit, it comes complete with everything. I think the catalog is just missing a few items (rear shock and rear brake extension).

Since the front is a coilover, you can actually adjust it to whatever height you want. I successfully adjusted it a bit more than the 3" but I'd say 3.5" is the max you want to go. As long as you stay in the 2.5" - 3, it rides the best. The higher you go the more stiff it gets and the more harsh the ride will ultimately become.

CV angles were fine even at that point. I just don't recommend it. Surprisingly you can crank it up to 5.5" if you want but it's all maxed out and you get no droop. Safe for all coilovers to stay max at 3" which still gives you approximately 1-1.5" droop to play with.
