Is it possible for the the heater core to be bad even though no steam or antifreeze smell was witnessed inside of the truck while it was over heating. the passanger side floor was wet. this is my girlfriends truck and she was out of town when this happened so a random mechanic bypassed the the heater core and sent her on her way. I have changed one in my car before and it was no fun, i am just wondering if it could be anything else before i take on this task. Its a 2001.
