Possible idea for a cheap roof rack!

I work at a concrete company...so we have these 300 gallon fluid totes for chemicals just laying around... then it came to me....why not turn one into a roof rack! They are light weight tube aluminum frames, you could cut one side for a small rack or two sides for a big rack....these things can be found cheap or even free sometimes. They look like these:

Those frames even bolt to the pallett on the bottom so you could just bolt the two halves together.

Didn't you post a thread with it on top of your roof rack? If it wasn't you then somebody already beat you to the idea and did it already.

I did do it. Took about 10 minutes, and presto. Considering it was free I hardly think it looks like dog sh*t. All it needs are mounts and some black spray paint.

Yeah im thinking camping gear...deffinately wouldn't want to mount the hi-lift on there, or spare tire.

Haha ya I remember that link. I remember clicking and opening it and the second I saw the rack I just bust out laughing. :bravo: it just looked hilarious.

I didnt know you could get a rack that cheap. Thats a good deal. Can you mount lights on it though?
