Possible Paint Problem

Hi Guys,

I was washing my Rig, and just noticed something that I hadn't noticed before. Not sure it is a problem or if it is normal. The paint at the bottom of the doors, where the door meets the rocker panel sort to speak is kind of ruff. I didn't notice this before, it is on both sides, so I think it might be normal. Does anyone else have this? My T4R is a Classic Silver Limited.

Thanks

It's painted thicker or heavier, completely normal. Many other manufacturers do this to resist paint chipping, my '05 Tacoma has it as well.

Mine has a clear paint protection film running down its length along the bottom. Many people are removing this as it begins to peel. I may also in the future.

Ya I figured it was OK since it was the same on both sides, I just didn't notice it before so I thought I would ask.

Thanks for the quick replies!

This area is actually painted with a special paint that has more flexibility. Now days all SUV and truck manufacturers paint the rocker area and behind wheel well areas with this type of paint.
