Possible Steering Rack Leak????

Today when I removed the boots over the inner tie rods I found some liquid. The boots were brittle and I noticed a couple cracks. The liquid had a very light oily feel to it. Most of the liquid was water but it had a tint similar to p/s fluid. Is my steering rack leaking or is it normal to have a little p/s fluid in the rack? I inspected the rack and found no signs of leaking anywhere else. I'm guessing the water initially got in the boot from the cracks. Has anyone else found some p/s fluid in the rack upon boot removal?

If your rack is leaking and low on fluid, you would likely hear some squealing noises when turning the wheel...most noticeable when stopped and at low speeds.

When I did my inners the boots were ripped and there was an oily fluid in there, if it makes you feel any better. I think it was from the actual old tie rod. If it makes you feel any better.

I'm not having any squeal and I haven't had to add any p/s fluid. I guess I'm alright then.
