Possible trade F350 for Toyota Tundra Input?

I was looking into possibly trading my f350 7.3l 6 speed 113k for a White 2004 Tundra 4x4 TRD 103k miles. has toyota service records timing belt and water pump done at 90k. Its very clean too.

Are their any common major issues experienced with these trucks?

the engine looks to be the same 4.7 as the 4runners.
Not sure I want to give up the diesel yet but could really use the extra cab space. gas mileage is a little better with the f350.
any input would be great!

Are you wanting the truck just for more cab space? Do you do a lot of towing? The 1st gen tundras aren't bad trucks and that engine is definitely a solid engine. But you are really comparing apples to oranges. Your F-350 will definitely out perform the tundra in all aspects of towing and payload. The tundra may be a little more comfortable though. My dad used to have a F350 and it was a stout truck but lacked in the comfort department.

yes mainly for more space. But I do tow on occasion a 14ft flat bed car hauler with quads, a small 8ft motorcycle trailer and i use the bed alot for hauling.
i switched the bench seats out for leather seats from a platinum edition f350 they are WAY more comfortable
the overall ride is still not as comfortable as I would like, its fine on the highway its the around town driving on crappy roads with potholes that's uncomfortable and the constant shifting around town where i live right now.

the tundra is a super nice truck, very capable, and has the toyota quality/reliability. at the end of the day though, a 7.3 6 speed is a pretty darn cool truck. personally, if there was great deal on a nice tundra, i would make the switch, but other than that, id keep the diesel

I wouldn't. But that's only because a F350 4x4 7.3L PSD with a 6 speed is a great package for a truck. I would love to own that exact setup for a hunting truck (if I had the spare money).

But I guess if you aren't really using the truck in a hard way and need the extra cab space, you could do a lot worse than a Tundra. I have a few friends with them and they like them.

Just know the first time you are pulling a trailer that's loaded down up a steady grade you are gonna be second guessing your choice.

Don't do it! That F-350 is saweet!!! I've always wanted that exact set-up. That truck will pull that tundra and all the trailers at the same time. The 7.3 Navistar/International is one of the best diesels of all time.

well after talking with the wife and some buddies I'm just going to keep it! I don't think I will be happy with the towing of the tundra compared to a turbo diesel. anyone have experience with Deaver springs? I think I may try those with my bilsteins and see how the ride is after the deavers

put a lot of hard work into the truck it's hard to let it go even tho I could use some more cab space

I wouldn't. That f350 was built for towing and work.
Better brakes, stronger drive train, heavier,
Better towing through the hills. Bonus it's diesel.
If it's a work truck, Ford.

It depends on what you need the truck for. The Tundra isn't a bad full-sized truck, but you bought that F350 for a purpose and that 4.7L, while a good engine isn't going to have nearly as much grunt or command over heavy trailers and equipment.

Bottom line, both vehicles will be reliable (the 6.0L & 6.6L Power Strokes were the most problematic of the Ford Diesels) for many many miles if taken care of, but only one is going to be able to meet heavy duty needs. So its up to what you need the vehicles for in my honest opinion.

I was looking at pics of the Ford and know exactly why ur ride isn't as comfy as u would like. U have 20" rims. Even with 35" tall tires, u have very little sidewall and with the tire pressures u have to run, u have probably zero sidewall flex. If u run 35s on a 16" you'd have plenty of flex and a much smoother ride. If possible, swap with a buddy with 16 or 17s and 35 or 37" tires and I guarantee the difference will be substantial. FWIW.

Another vote to keep the truck.

If you do decide to sell make sure to post it on some of the powerstroke forums out there.

You own one of the most desirable powerstroke out there. Much like a 98.5 12 valve cummins. Or the early 07 pre-emissions Duramax I sold and regret to this day, certain vehicle/engine combinations are super valuable and will command a premium price to the right cadre of buyers.

Well I was running the 35's squeezed in before the lift so I dont think its the 20's there is plenty of sidewall with the 20's the pics make it look worse than it is. I think The problem is i am running the icon 4.5" hanger with a 1.5" add a leaf that is really really stiff. I going to get some deaver leaf springs for the front and ditch the add a leaf. will be doing ARB's soon also
thanks all for the helpful information and opinions, looks like i am for sure keeping her. the only trucks i like better are the tundra and tacoma, but I will miss the diesel. wish we could get tacomas or tundras with a diesel power plant!!
