Hey everybody, I'm Carl from Colorado. New to the 4runner world 
I own a 2003 V8 4runner SR5. 4wd with center locking differential.
Today I was at a stop light and when i pressed the gas to go.. my tires spun on some ice and caught traction a second later, followed by a loud snapping sound. After that, the truck would not move. I got out and checked under the truck..
This is what I saw..
The drive shaft going to the front wheels was spinning.. and the rear driveshaft was not. Inside the transfer case i can hear a grinding/crunching type sound when the truck is in drive or reverse.
The truck will drive if i engage my differential lock.. but wont go anywhere without it.
What do you guys think i broke???
