Possible transmission issue

Hey folks looking for some advice. Over the last month I've noticed that shifting out of Park was a little stiffer than it ought to be. I took my center console apart but did not find any obstructions. Today on the highway I noticed that the gear light indicator on the dashboard was blank (yet it will show P, R, N just not D or the number if you're on S mode). About 20 minutes into my drive the check engine light and Trac Off lit up my dashboard (both solid).
It's a 2015 Limited with 75k miles. As luck would have it my powertrain warranty just ended 6 months ago too. :(

I've searched high and low but haven't found anyone with same problem on the forum (at least not for the Gen 5). Any clues on what the problem may be? Should I take it to a specialized transmission shop or my neighborhood mechanic? A little anxious about how costly this repair may be.

Thanks in advance!

It's your neutral safety switch, should be a simple fix. Search on this forum, you should be able to find a thread related to this same exact issue.

There was a thread a while back where a member had a similar problem. Turned out to be an indicator / selector switch. Not sure if it also serves as a neutral safety switch though. It did, however, cause faults because the computer was confused.

It is located on the side of the transmission and is a little hard to get to. The problem is that the switch isn't really sealed and is prone to corrosion. The OP of the thread was able to remove his switch; take it apart and clean it to fix the issue. As I remember he replaced it with a new one later on.

When you replace the NSBU switch, If you have to have it in gear to replace, make sure you know which gear it is in and that it doesn't change during replacement.

Thanks for the feedback. After searching neutral safety switch and reading multiple threads this is most likely the issue. Going to try spraying some PB and see if that works (did for one member).
