Possible Vacuum leak...idk?

My 1995 4Runner restoration project has a problem. When I step on the gas and while the A/C is running the air flow valve diverts the air to the windshield. Does anybody know if that is a mechanical device "valve" our vacuum operated?

I also noticed that it seems to have a miss once in awhile running at idle. I bought a Chilton's manual but I can't find in the manual what the normal vacuum range is. Can anybody help me? I am looking forward to having new online friends with this forum.

6 cyl I think the model is a 3VZ-E

vacuum

This was a common problem on GM's when the control head looses vacuum it goes to defualt vent settings to the defrost so you can always see out of the windshield. Check the back of the control head?
