Possibly stupid question. Footwell lights in '15 LE

Yes. I have since replaced the two footwell lights with generic T10 LED bulb holders and bulbs found in a writeup on a Lexus forum. These white LEDs are much brighter but the rubber sockets squeeze right into place in the existing holes in the interior trim. I just cut the modules off and soldered in the 2-wire bulb holders.
I can wire in a resistor or just leave the bulbs masked with tape like they are now.

Absolutley. They are plug and play with any T10 bulb. No tools required.
Folks with the TE don't have these footwell lights. Not sure about others but I would really like to add something like this to my TE. Does anyone know if us TE folks have that same wiring?
Would you be able to take some pics of the connector the factory wiring goes to? Maybe a few other pics? I think others may also be interested in this LE feature/upgrade.

It comes with a control box with various modes but I leave mine on the brightest setting. I originally had them wired up to come on when the key was in the ignition but it was getting old having to turn them off every time. It was useful for when you dropped stuff and wanted to turn the lights on whenever but I rather not worry about having to turn it off every time. I recently redid my electrical so I plan to rewire the ground to the door switch so that it grounds out when the door is closed thus eliminating having to manual turn it off.
Here is a picture of them when they are on. I was planning to put 2 up front and 2 in the back but there wasn't really anywhere to mount them in the back so I put 2 up front on each side. They are really useful for when you drop stuff.

For the price they are worth it. I don't have mine hooked up at the moment but there are quite a few modes so I'm sure you'll find something that'll work for you. I've left mine on a few times driving at night and its not distracting at all. I say get it as it is a fairly cheap mod and functional. It also has a sound setting as well where it supposedly goes to the beat of the music but haven't gotten that to work so well... lol

I really appreciate the info! I wish I had waited for this, but I already put lighting in the front of my seats for this reason/purpose. Thanks for thinking of me!
By any chance is this light module the same as the glove box light? The reason I ask, after taking my 15 TE to the dealer for some other work, my vehicle some how came back with a footwell light (singular/ passenger side) it wasnt there before. Sounds cool enough, but it only turn on when my headlights are on and stays on while driving. Is that normal? Also, now my glove box doesnt have a light. And I'm thinking they some how put the light module in the wrong place?

My mom has a 2012 4Runner Limited. It has the amber/orange LEDs in the footwells up front. I noticed her passenger side one was not working. Not sure if these are it or not, but cross referenced them on Google images and they look like the module I pulled out from under her dashboard. I am going to give it a shot. If I can remember, I'll post an update. I know it's a few years late, but maybe this will help someone. I found the following part numbers on toyotapartsdeal.com:
