post your 4.0L V6 aftermarket exhaust setup

For a V6 just listen to tacoma or fj exhaust set ups.

I had a borla muffler on mine for a while but ended up putting the stock muffler back on with a tip out the side instead of straight back. The borla was great at normal speed, 35-75, it wasn't too loud unless you were trying to get on it. But backing out of the driveway, parking spot, taking off at red lights all got old with me. It was really obnoxious in those situations and anytime when I first pressed the pedal until I got to speed.

I like exhaust systems, I have a flowmaster 1 chamber (really loud) on my v8 z71 and love it but I can't stand the v6 exhaust note. A tuned exhaust may be better, or you may like the v6 sound but I personally couldn't deal with it. Just my 2 cents.

I still have an aFe intake, and it's loud like an exhaust when I'm on the throttle, but it's not noisey at low speeds.

Also, I agree the tacoma exhausts will give you a good idea, also FJ cruisers.

yeah, I have a big block Mopar (440), so I know what you mean and I know a 4.0 V6 won't sound anywhere near the same, and I don't care for cheesy sounds either .. I was just hoping that some people found an acceptable idea

I have the flowmaster super 44, just the muffler and the rest stock. The only thing I plan on doing is chopping off the resonator and re-routing to the side.

Overall I'm happy with my flow...no obnoxious drone (except at 60mph+ pulling a 19' ski boat). Of course if it was on a v8 it would sound much nicer, but still throaty. I can accelerate softly and get a nice little rumble. Or really open it up and it sounds good too. I would get a vid for you, but I don't have a camera right now

i had a cherrybomb vortex 88105, its the 3 inch enter in and offset out, had custom 3 inch pipe fom the stock flange welded in place of the old stuff, sounds good, but the muffler started to rust out on me, all the welds of the muffler cracked and the sound wasnt the same, now i switched to flowmaster super 44 with 3inch center in and offset out, sounds alot better, more deeper to me. heres an old vid of the cherrybomb.
