FINALLY got to take my cluster off and send it to Alex. I'll take better pics later on (My NAV/HVAC are out as I'm finally trying to get other mods finished). Looks great I think.

Nothing special. White LED background. I had Alex keep the ODO display orange so it looks completely stock (and to match the HVAC display). I had him change the LEDs for P,N to red LEDs. I'm quite happy.

heres the trick, u get the leds from superbright leds right? neo4, i use the hp version, and we all know they dont light up when installed, only the regular ones light up dim. so first thing first, get the hp leds and the bas of the neo4, unwind both leads, ones pos and the other is neg, so u solder some pigtail wire to both leads, make sure you know whtats pos and neg, test it a 12v drill batt if u can, then you install it back on the unit, but make sure the wires dont make contact on the board, now you goin to tap the pos into a hot wire thats going to be hot on acc, its the gray wire on the hvac plug, its the corner i think, now tap that for + and find a ground to use, i just did a small ring terminal and use the radio bracket as ground, test if the bulb light up. to make the neo4 led stay put, tape it on the back of the led holder, seperating the + and - so they dont touch. and now you got full 12v to the leds. this is how i did it and i am not responsible for any mistakes on the process. i looked at the wire diagram for a long time figurin out what is acc hot, the yellow with red is constant hot. but the grey is acc hot, its better to use a test light, i wasnt able to use one, but i invested in one from sears last weekend after this mod.

no need to wire the negative side, just the positive sides. I solder both hot leads to each other and then over to the hot side of the Neo3 led that is used for the RESET/MODE back lighting and now have plenty of voltage avail for all 3. And can now be switched on/off with the headlights, ran the wire all beneath the black plastic guard that covers the back of the display, almost can't tell it is even there. No tapping into harness reqd. Why toyota put 8V on those is beyond me. This is why the 12-14v radio shack bulbs never worked right

your way is lights will only be on when the headlight is on, my way is itll be on when the key is at acc, you can keep your way, i like my way. both have its up and downs.
