they are great. paired with the LC coils, they have a good ride and they flex like crazy. i have the shocks from toytec (schaefers might be the same?) that are a eye-to-eye mount with a eye-to-stud adapter at the top which adds an additional pivot point on the top of the shock. i would definitely recommend that combo for the rear of the 3rd gen. i might try to see if i can get toytec to carry LC coils. :cheers:

hmmm, mine are eye-to-eye and stud-to-stud, can't remember what the part# is on them? I'll have to look at them then see what toytec is selling

Yeah the same shocks that SS sells with the 1.2 lift kit are the same as the toytec 5125's.

I don't think so...I have the ones that come with the SS 1.2 kit and they don't use the eye-to-stud adapter

Word of advice, don't measure "lift" from the ground... Measure from the center of the hub to the fender well lip. This way you eleminate variables such as tire size, ground, air presuure etc... Just to get a better number...

i think the 5125's come with either eye-to-eye or eye-to-stud. i know the ones that we sell are just the taco shock with an adapter. i could be wrong though

Aren't the Taco Billies valved softer for less weight? I never understood why Toytec sells these as opposed to the ones SS sells (which I am told are actually for the 4runner).

There are a TON of different part#'s for 5125's, I'm not sure what the toytec part # is, but I'd imagine its different than the 5125's I have. They may look the same but its all about whats inside (cue after school special). The valving/dampening is different for each part#, and I never understood why they push those tacoma 5100 adjustables either.

Sothe front shocks are 5125? and the rear is 5100? Or does 5100 apply to both front and rear series? I'm sorta confused on that. And how do you adjust these 5100 front shocks?

I have an issue with this rear brake line hooplah...

Has anyone flexed their truck out to the point of hanging a rear wheel and gone under to look at the brake line? I have. 3 inches of slack. EASILY.
The only time I've seen the brake line stretched, was when I put the truck on a lift and the rear is completely unloaded- a situation that, if happened on the trail, would mean you have bigger problems than a stretched brake line.

Not that I'm saying don't do it. Just saying you don't need to do it.

I agree LINY, I've seen mine with the one tire stuffed good and the other hanging and there's lots of slack. I unloaded mine to install the rear coils/shocks and it took up the slack, but it still wasn't ripping it out or anything.

So most of you have not extended the rear brake lines and have not done any modification to it and it still has slack? That's awesome news if true, because that just means I can save more money lol. I'm gonna try and test fit these coils and shocks some time next week because I won't have time over the weekend with a rugby tournament in Seattle. Thanks for all the input guys! I can't wait to transform this 4runner into something more BADASS like most 4runners on forum and all of them on this thread!

The way I see is, they're made for the FRONT of a LAND CRUISER. That's a heavy motor in a heavy truck. I think they'd excel for towing.

DUHOCKEY! I forgot to ask you, who's Green t4r is that in the picture you posted with the wicked rear flex? Would you be able to share the exact setup he's running?I really like that look. (I'm more bias to the green t4r's )
